Alhamdulillah, the Qur’an 30 for 30 series has become an annual tradition, reaching and benefiting hundreds of thousands of people, in both video and written formats. The purpose of the series is to help connect Muslims with the Qur’an and understand its message on a deeper level. Alhamdulillah, our fifth season of Qur’an 30 for 30 will air this Ramadan, and to supplement it, we have combined the notes from all previous seasons into one book. We have divided this book into thirty chapters, each focusing on one juz (one of the thirty equal conventional divisions) of the Qur’an. Each chapter is divided into four sections representing the past four seasons of Qur’an 30 for 30. Season 1 focused on a thematic overview of the Qur’an, Season 2 on Seerah-related passages and surahs (chapters), Season 3 on Judgment Day, and Season 4 on the Qur’anic worldview. In this book, you will find each juz discussed from all four angles. The rest of the introduction focuses on key terminology for understanding this book and maximizing benefits from its content. This includes definitions of the terms tafsir, Seerah, asbab al-nuzul and thematic tafsir, which are explained below.
