In undertaking the translation of this work by His Eminence Professor Dr. Ḥasan Maḥmūd ʿAbd al-Laṭīf al-Shāfiʿī—a highly esteemed authority in Islamic scholarship—I was granted a rare and meaningful opportunity to share his profound insights on health as illuminated by the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Given the author’s distinguished scholarly legacy and his extensive contributions to Islamic studies and the Arabic language sciences, it was essential that this translation faithfully preserve the depth, precision, and integrity of his scholarship while rendering it accessible to a wider readership.

With this objective in mind, Dr. al-Shāfiʿī and I mutually agreed to adopt a contemporary approach by publishing this work as an open-access e-book, ensuring that its valuable content would be freely available to all who seek to benefit from it.
